Cora VR8V Valve

The Cora VR8V Valve is designed to dose powder under pressure and vacuum. It is suitable for continuous feeding of powder while maintaining extremely uniform dosing. The brushless electric motor with control encoder assures very accurate dosing. The Cora VR8V Valve is an aseptic valve, designed and manufactured to dose powder and granules. In the presence of pressure and vacuum. The Cora VR8V Valve allows continuous powder and granule flow thus obtaining an extremely uniform dosing during the feeding of Mills, Press Machines, Filling Machines, Micro dosing Machines and Sieving Machines. The Cora VR8V Valve has a spherical design that allows it to intercept the charging system with the discharging line of the product.

VR8V Rotor
The Rotor is composed of 8 lobes, and has a variable speed according to the required applications, both in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction and enables to introduce a uniform and
a continuous quantity of product between machine A and machine B, without blocking the flow of product and reaching a high precision. The diameters available on the market are Ø 100 and
Ø 150.

Cora VR8V Valve

The motors for the VR8V and VR8VG can be pneumatic, electric brushless motor with a stainless steel body or stainless steel casing and stepper motor. If the valve is motorized with a pneumatic
motor, it is not possible to control the number of revolutions, so there is no possibility of obtaining a controlled flow rate. In such case you would only have a continuous flow of product, the
throughput depends on the size of the valve and on the number of revolutions calculated in the design phase. By using a brushless motor, stepper motor or a three-phase electric motor
powered by a variable frequency drive (inverter) it is possible to perform high precision product dosing, since it is possible to check, and then vary the number of revolutions of the valve. The
flow of product through the valve can vary from maximum to minimal flow (see table above).

Rotor and Dosing Accuracy:

The dosing accuracy of the VR8V and VR8VG can git to ± 5 grams with 90% of the pharmaceutical products, to achieve this result CO.RA. continuously improves and develops its
products and has elaborated the valve rotor in order to improve the dosing precision of the DN 80 and DN 100, while for the DN 150 the flow rate of the rotor has been increased in order to provide the dosing of significant quantities of product in a short period of time. These high-precision results can be achieved with the above-mentioned rotors, but only if used with a motor and control and weighing system supplied by CO.RA. CO.RA. has studied a solution to achieve an even higher dosing accuracy and it is to customize the volume and the number of pockets of the valve rotor which allow it to reach a dosing accuracy of ± 2 – 3 grams. In these cases, the valve requires fine-tuning based on dosing tests carried out with the customer’s product. These tests can be performed with the VR8Vand VR8VG available in our Technology Center. The possibility of customizing the rotor both in volume and in number of pockets ensures great performance flexibility, allowing the optimization of the process at any time simply by replacing the rotor.
